BIOGRAPHY
Joey Bates was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He initially trained as a painter at Kendall College of Art and Design in the early 2000s. After graduation and some experimentation, Bates found a home in cut paper sculpture. It is his current medium of choice. His works have been exhibited in North America and Europe over the past twenty years and have been collected by collectors the world over. He currently resides in the Swedish countryside, just a few hours north of Gothenburg in a cabin on a canal with his dog, Kevin O’Connor.
